The Saturday Sharefest BOOM!

I have only one share this week.

But it’s a good one.

So many of you (especially if you follow me on instagram or twitter where I am ksluiter on both) know that I have been participating in #SheReadsTruth because of my new and oh-so-inspiring friend Kacia.

Through a giveaway on Kacia’s site I met Jac.

Are you still following me?  Good.

I truly believe people come in your life exactly when you need them and/or they need you.

Jac came into my life just when I was restarting my devotion to daily devotions.  Just as I was seeking to take care of myself better in diet, physical health, exercise, mental health, and spiritual health.

I have been to the gym, cleaned up my eating habits (sort of…still working on this), sat down with my therapist and psychiatrist for a new plan/meds, and started daily reading the Bible.

Soon school will be starting and hopefully my new habits will be solid enough not to get lost amidst the stress and busyness of back to school chaos. I want to make an effort to bring reminders to myself throughout the day to slow down and be more deliberate.

And this is where Jac jumped in.

Because of her giveaway with Kacia, I received a pretty little packet of mini prints with Bible verses and inspirational sayings on them from Jac’s etsy shop, babEblessings.

This will be going on my new desk at work.

Jac is the real deal.  I feel blessed to know her.

And so will you.  You should hop over to her blog by the same name as her etsy shop (or maybe the etsy shop is the same name as her blog..hmmm…chicken, egg).

But wait!  I have one more thing to share!

Jac has a little something new coming to her shop.

They are listed here for pre-order and I WANT ONE! Don’t you? (This is where she talks all about them…love it!)

As much as I love pounding out my feelings and my experiences here on my blog for the public to read and for my family to have forever and ever, there is something about having a personal journal that I slowly, deliberately write by hand that will always make me happy.

I have handwritten journals all the way from when I was a freshman in college.

When I started this blog, the handwritten journals slowed to almost nothing.  Then I started doing daily devotionals and I started up again.

Ah. It feels good.

Anyway, yes, I am plugging Jac and her blog and her shop.

She is lovely, she makes lovely things, and she has lovingly joined the Sluiter Nation ads in the sidebar.

I have two of these bookmarks: one for my planner, and one saved for my journal.

Full Disclosure: Jac is featured as a sponsor in the sidebar.  She is also running a contest to see which bloggers that she works with can give her blog/shop the most hits from their blogs from now until Sept 30.  I took the challenge because, duh.  You all are awesome and I knew you would love her.  The winning blogger will receive one of her new journals.  She didn’t give me my opinions, and if I don’t win the journal, I will be purchasing one myself.

About Katie

Just a small town girl...wait no. That is a Journey song. Katie Sluiter is a small town girl, but she is far from living in a lonely world. She is a middle school English teacher, writer, mother, and wife. Life has thrown her a fair share of challenges, but her belief is that writing through them makes her stronger.

  1. Very cool journal – I hope you win 🙂

  2. The journal looks sweet and I hope we can help you win! Tried the link in the sidebar… it’s not working. I will use the text links! Have a great weekend.

  3. That’s sweet! I just ordered one for myself. 🙂

  4. Looks pretty nice. That journal is very cute!

  5. Hey Katie! I just wanted to take a minute and let you know I am so grateful that you post constantly about #shereadstruth I kept seeing it on Instagram and through your tweets and finally got curious enough. That was two weeks ago. I am a youth minister who hadn’t picked up a Bible to read that was for personal reasons in months. I know, shameful. Thanks to this–I am reading my Bible daily, and I am much much happier. I just feel so much better in the mornings when I curl up on my swing outside with a cup of coffee and spend a little time with the Lord. Thanks again. Also, sorry for the book. 🙂

  6. Did you win?!
