People? This week did not turn out well.
I will skip to the nitty gritty. I am UP from 198. UP. The scale…for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE hit the 200’s.
There may have been swearing. And tears. But mostly swearing.
Here is the deal:
I cooked three GOOD meals this week.
I ate the leftovers of this or a healthy sandwich along with a fruit, a cheese, and a fiber bar for lunch each day.
I ate breakfast every day (a good breakfast…not a fatty or sugary one).
My junk food intake was drastically reduced.
I drank much MUCH more water.
I did not exercise…so there’s that.
But WHAT THE HECK?
How do I go to making WAY better choices and go up almost 5 pounds?
This week was the Lady Week, so hopefully that has something to do with it and this isn’t just regular fatty weight gain.
Anyway…this is what I am doing about it.
We have healthy meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) planned again for the week.
I have submitted myself to Healthy Train (which has a grand prize of a photo shoot in Indy…hear that Indy friends?)
I plan to get on the treadmill Tuesday, Friday, and a weekend day and at LEAST walk a mile each day.
Friends? I HAVE to do something about this.
I looked at Cort today and said, “I sort of hate myself.”
That is unacceptable. I am a cute person buried inside too many layers of yuck. I REFUSE to feel that way about myself.
So I am not just on the McFatty wagon, but I am on the Healthy Train as well.
Let’s DO THIS!

Sometimes it’s just like that & yes, if it’s “lady week,” that can DEFINITELY make you gain just by fluid retention. Keep chugging the water!
Ughh.. That is always so depressing. But I think you have a healthy outlook on it and a good plan. Heck, you can add more walking in your day at school. Just go longer ways or do a few laps around the school at lunch, before school or before you leave.
Just found your blog and wanted to say I’m with you. I wish one could lose weight by just making healthy choices cause it sure sucks when I step on the scale after I have chosen bland healthy vs. the oreos I really want to eat and it still says the same thing or more….Stick with it though, I’m started a 20 pound weight loss journey this year, you’re not alone!

I weigh a ton more when on my monthly cycle. I had no idea how much until I was doing some hard core training, weighing way too often, and it sky rocketed. I flipped. Then it went back down when all was said and done. haha
Hang tight. I bet that’s the reason. . .
Lady week is definitely to blame – lady week is *ALWAYS* to blame.

I’m sure it has entirely too much sugar…it’s a Fiber One bar. I like it mid-morning with some water. Helps me to not get the grumblies in my tumbly. And? It works with the apple I eat at lunch to keep me…um…regular 🙂
99% sure it has to do with your monthly visitor. But keep up the good work, so that next week & the week after you’ll be jumping with joy over the number of pounds shed!

Don’t give up! Its definitely due to the lady week. It happens to most of us its total crap…men suck. I’m sure somehow its their fault. Keep up the good work. Next week you’ll see the rewards.
I feel your pain. I said January 1st I was switching to high proteins, fruits & veggies. Haven’t done it yet. Must lose weight. Tonight I had pizza rolls for dinner. FREAKIN pizza rolls. We’ll push each other to dig ourselves out!
I’m with you. I’ve been fighting with the same 15 pounds for a year and a half (on top of another 35+ that need to come off). I spent three weeks eating well within the suggested calories and NOTHING. I was so frustrated and then Christmas came, so it was all shot to hell. I made that decision to start exercising and eating right in the new year and after my first week I lost NOTHING. But, I’m not letting myself get frustrated. Keep up your good work and you’ll do it.

I GUARANTEE you can chalk the weight gain up to Aunt Flow. I weight at least 5 pounds more then. Kepp your chin up. Do not give up! I will be writing a McFatty Monday post myself next Monday. Add the exercise. You’ll see the weight drop faster & you’ll tone up too.
scales are just wacky sometimes. i have the same issue when it randomly says i gained which makes no sense based on the day’s eating/exercise. So there’s that. Scale demons.
