Project 365 {week 40}

Gosh this week went by fast!

I taught two evenings as usual, but I also had Open House at my school and Homecoming.

And how did we just wrap up week 40?

That means only 12 more weeks in this year!  WHAT??

And now I am grading essays. Lots and lots of essays.

Because the first quarter progress reports go out this week.

And as usual, I am left to wonder where the time went.

Project 365 {week 39}

I feel like I can never make a pronouncement of greatness without something crappy happening right afterward.

Last week I told you all things were awesome in Sluiter Nation.

And they really are.

However.

This week was tough.

I fought a cold, had a three-day training that took me out of my classroom, and…

we got some heart-shattering news.

I can’t share that news because it’s not my story to tell,

but we are sick with grief in our family.

But time doesn’t stop for grief, does it?

It rolled on this week.

September 28: Legos are funny.

This week was hard.

I know I am being vague, and that is all I can give you right now.

But upcoming weeks will also be very hard.

Next to the grief, however, there will be joy.

And while we pray through the grief, we will be clinging to the joy.

Things are good here in Sluiter Nation.

I’m finding that I don’t take nearly as many pictures when I am busy working all day, every day.

Therefore there aren’t as many to choose from for this weekly post.

I either have to get better about taking pictures or…something.

Anyway, busy week. But all good stuff.

More good stuff coming this week.

I love fall.

Project 365 {week 36}

School started for me this week which means I sort of sucked at taking pictures.

This is what I captured…

Sigh.

Project 365 {week 35}

It’s time!

This week I went back to work!

We are not all the way into our new fall routine;

that will come over the next two weeks.

But it’s starting…

See ya, summer!

It’s been fun and great, but it’s time to move into fall.

Project 365 {week 34}

I pretty much just took a week off blogging.

I didn’t mean to, but with vacation and then re-entry from vacation…

well…

you know how it goes.

We spent four of these seven days on a beach, I call that a WIN.

I’ll have a full post on our vacation tomorrow.

Later this week I’ll also tell you how during what should have been the most relaxing part of my summer, I tripped and fell into a bit o depression.

And if you missed it, I have a post about Boudreax’s Butt Paste…there is a sweepstakes going on there, so you should enter!

Project 365 {week 31}

So you know, it’s August.

The last month of summer break.

All of a sudden we are counting down and work things are getting urgent.

I both welcome and despise this.

So anyway…the week that brought us August…

July 28: Home from BlogHer to a lot of cuddly boys.

August 2: I love weddings.

August 2: More best friends. My favorite.

So it’s August and we cram to fit as much summer fun into the next three weeks.

At the same time I start to shift my focus to lesson planning.

My brain hurts trying to balance both states of mind at once.

Project 365 {week 29}

Remember how I said July was busy.

Yeah.

I realize the pictures don’t make this week look nearly as exhausting as it was.

Monday and Tuesday the boys were in daycare because I have somewhere around 439573 things to do and deadlines to hit.

Tuesday night we hosted our neighborhood’s ice cream social.

Wednesday and Thursday were so ungodly hot that the boys had to stay in the house…and almost drove me off the ledge.

Friday…is a blog post on its own. I can’t even with that one.

Saturday we came home from Chicago.

Today we try to rest because this week coming up?

Full to the top again.

As my mom says, “we are making memories!”

Woot?

Project 365 {week 28}

We suffered the inevitable “Holiday Weekend Hangover” this week.

It took took us a couple days to recover and then BAM we were busy again.

Thus continues the theme of Sluiter Nation Summer: busy!

July 7: So much holiday weekend recovery today + gearing up for a "normal" week.

I am starting to think that July 2013 is going to be known as the Most Exhausting Month of the Year.

This week had lots of fun, but it was far from relaxing.

And as I look ahead to the rest of July, I just get tired.

But it will be the good kind of exhausted…

Knowing we are making memories.
