Project 365 {week 26}

This week started with Eddie’s birthday, and really, lots of the week focused on him.

It’s beginning to be very clear that as a daycare kid, he is used to constant stimulation.

His baby brother and I fall short of his expectations for “fun” lots of the time.

I’ll write about that more later.

Here are the joys from the week…

June 23: Eddie is Four!

June 24: Busting out the new toys.

And don’t forget Google Reader is going away TONIGHT.  If you are reading this in Google reader and want to keep reading Sluiter Nation (I hope you do!), head up there  in my sidebar to where it says FOLLOW THE NATION and choose something new.

And for any of you who love Thirty-One bags…I am having a facebook party and YOU ARE ALL INVITED! It’s just like a home party in that you can win prizes and stuff, but like a catalog party, you don’t have to actually leave your house. This is the link to the event; hope to see you there TOMORROW!

The rest of this weekend is more around-the-house-chores and going to the Memorial Day parade and having coffee with my grandparents (my grandpa is a vet) and just enjoying life.

Four more days of work…

Then summer break!

I can feel the excitement.

Project 365 {week 18}

Oh look.

I didn’t forget that I had a blog.

Yeah, sorry about the light week.

Or, if you are behind in reading, you’re welcome. I totally did it on purpose.

For YOU.

Ahem.

Anyway.  The week.

I almost had an anxiety attack this week thinking about all that was on the calendar.

And today I will be in Chicago for the Listen to Your Mother show.

So much going on.

All good, but…so much.

Also four weeks (18 days) left of school.

Not that I am counting.

I am totally counting.

Happy Cinco De Mayo, kids.

This was probably one of the best spring breaks in a LONG time.

We kept busy, but we relaxed.

We saw some awesome friends and played hard.

It was great.

Thanks to all our family and friends for the fun times.

Now we have the 8-week push to summer break!

Project 365 {week 13}

Lucky 13.

My birthday week.

Also the week I was so busy with grades being due, my birthday, and Easter that I thought my face would fall off.

But then it was spring break and all was right with the world.

See?

I’ve been sort of a mushy mush pants about this all week.

Tomorrow, though, I will post about the party. Promise.

Project 365 {week 8}

Weeks that don’t start until Wednesday are weird.

I mean, the week started on Sunday, but my work week didn’t start until Wednesday.

Not weird in a bad way just…off.

I was able to have lunch with a best friend, dinner with a best friend, and shop for a little Birdie’s first birthday, so I guess weird is good.

Although we had horrible weather again and parent/teacher conferences.

You win some, you lose some.

February 18: Sunday morning

February 20: After two days off for midwinter break, we are back. And I have to stay until after 7pm because of parent/teacher conferences.

February 22: National Margarita Day. 'Nuff said.

February 23: Mommy makes waffles for the boys. Toaster waffles. But look at the happiness!

Even with the weird of the week, it was pretty dang awesome.

Seeing two out of three best friends and accomplishing a bunch is a win in my book any day…er…week!

Project 365 {week 44}

This week passed by so fast I almost missed it.

It was the last week of the marking period at the school where I work.

That means a flurry of end of the marking period tests and papers due.

It meant last minute attempts at begging for a better grade make up work and retaking of assessments.

It meant two half days with more to get done than hours in a day.

Oh, and Halloween was in there.

October 28: The carving of the pumpkins. One look at the guts and Eddie was like, “uh, no. you do it, mommy.”

October 29: I haz a new dress. It’s a Zulily win!

October 30: rough night of solo-parenting. These made it better.

October 31: Happy Halloween from Sluiter Nation

November 1: he looks innocent, but he has mad pooping up the back skills.

November 2: finished off the week (and the marking period) with El Dia De Los Muertos skeletons in my Spanish classes.

November 3: nobody makes the boys giggle as much as their daddy.

We ended the week with a Saturday together as a family.

It felt good.

And it was what we needed to recharge to start another busy week.

Now excuse me while I go grade the rest of those tests that are due in the gradebook by noon on Monday.

Ack.

Project 365 {week 39}

Do I ever write these posts and say, “eh, nothing much happened this week”?

No. I never do.

And trust me, there is a whole post devoted to that cray fumbling in my head.

But until it comes out of my head and flows through my fingers?

You just get to see what it’s like…one picture a day…

September 23: So this is happening now. ::sniff sniff::

September 24: Mom getting (and passing) a kidney stone means cereal for dinner.

September 25: Eddie says this is my pirate outfit. Funny.

September 26: This boy melts me with those eyes on the daily.

September 27: And this guy loves to make faces for the camera. This one? scared!

September 28: I SWEAR I will take a pic of Jen next time and NOT what I was drinking. ahem.

September 29: Weddings are our favorite date because we can shake our booties!

I feel like I should say that I am exhausted and whatever, but this week rocked.

I had my boys, I had girls night with a beautiful friend, and I had a night away with my hubs and friends.

Plus I took a two hour nap on Sunday, so there’s that.

Yes, I wish things would slow down a bit.

But, man, I am enjoying the ride.

As crazy as it is.
