Yesterday was the big ultrasound.
All was healthy and well.
And then we found out the sex of the baby.
And I laughed so hard that the ultrasound tech had to wait until my tummy stopped jiggling to continue.
Because there were no boy parts.
We are having a girl.
Alice Katherine Sluiter.
A GIRL!
(I can’t upload pictures to the blog right now, so if you want to see how I revealed it on the facebook, head over to my Sluiter Nation page).
Katie, I’m so happy for you! I have one girl and 2 boys, just in reverse of you. I’ve been reading your blog since Eddie was a baby and my heart is just smiling for you and your family. Since my youngest was born, I don’t read any blogs as much as I used to or write my own blog as much as I used to, but today I was waiting to hear the news. Sounds a little stalker-ish…I’m not crazy, promise 🙂 Anyway, really excited for you. Congratulations!
You do not sound crazy AT ALL. In fact, I have a few blogs that I have been following for a LONG time too…and I love that you’re still around even after all that time! And YAY for a girl! I think I am still in shock a little 🙂
Congratulations! Let the shopping begin. 🙂
right? BUTT RUFFLES!!!
I’m happy everything is good with the baby and so happy for you that you are having a girl. I knew it. Congratulations!
I was so relieved that everything looked good, I almost forgot to ask the gender. I just assumed it was a boy. In fact, I kept asking if HE was ok and if HIS heart looked good. Then there were no boy parts. WHAT? 🙂 in shock and pretty excited all at once. 🙂
Congratulations! I read often but rarely comment. So happy for you and your sweet family. Hoping the anxiety will subside now that you have had the ultrasound.
Thank you so much, Wendy! We are pretty excited, and the anxiety about baby’s healthy has now turned into shock and a case of the giggles over baby being a GIRL! 🙂
I know you would be happy with a healthy baby boy or girl but…. yay for girls!! (Says the mother of 2)
I really would have been happy with either, and I was totally expecting another boy…but this is wonderful news and we are so excited 🙂
Woot! So exited for you and your dear BOYS. xoxo
the boys are pretty excited too. Thanks, friend 🙂
I’m still smiling…I love her name, I love knowing the boys will have a baby sister, I’m so glad she is healthy and growing and you are doing well.
LOVE all around. XO
Thanks, Kir! I am currently holding excitement, shock, and terror all in my heart at the same time 🙂
Congratulations!! Her name is absolutely beautiful 🙂 Welcome to the wonderful world of being a girl Mama! You’re the opposite of me (I’m expecting my third in a few weeks and we’re adding a boy to the two-girl mix!) so I’m learning from you as I go 🙂
Ah!! I am a GIRL MAMA!! I foresee a post asking for advice coming soon 🙂
ALICE!!!!!!
Love that name so much.
And you.
Thanks, friend! We are tickled about a little girl. A girl will be a new adventure for our little family for sure!
I love the name.
And you.
And I just realised that I almost wrote the exact same comment as Julie. 🙂
