Speaking of Teaching English…

Here is your grammar lesson of the day, friends:

A LOT is two words
CANNOT is ONE word

“it’s” means “it is” (It’s hot outside.)
“its” is possessive (Put the towel on its hook.)

“you’re” means “you are” (You’re a sexy muffin.)
“your” is possessive (Your hair makes you a sexy muffin.)

“they’re” means “they are” (They’re going to go to the mall.)
“there” is a place (Put that over there.)
“their” is possessive (Give them back their volley ball.)

That is all for today – go forth and use great grammar!

About Katie

Just a small town girl...wait no. That is a Journey song. Katie Sluiter is a small town girl, but she is far from living in a lonely world. She is a middle school English teacher, writer, mother, and wife. Life has thrown her a fair share of challenges, but her belief is that writing through them makes her stronger.
